Anger Management Preview: Three Clips From Charlie Sheen's New FX Comedy

Those who are eager to get to see Charlie Sheen back on the small screen will have the opportunity soon enough when the comedy series debuts on FX later next month. After months of teaser and lots of speculation, FX has finally seen fit to give us a few peeks at their upcoming comedy series Anger Management
FX has been generous on the teasers for Anger Management, offering teasersfor the comedy series and even a look behind the scenes at the set for the series. But we haven't really gotten a look at the actual show until now. Here are a few very brief clips from the series, which has Sheen playing an anger management therapist. I
Interesting to see Green there as I didn't see his name on the cast list. I wonder if it's a recurring role or just a guest spot.
All in all, what we have are a couple of cute moments, but thirty seconds of show (much of which was the title and tune-in info) isn't quite enough to go on in really forming an opinion on the series just yet. But it's a start, right? And so far, it seems like Sheen's character here would have gotten along well with the late Charlie Harper.

Charlie Sheen's Camp Blasts "Despicable Parasites" for Naming Strip Club VIP Room After Him Read more: http://ca.eonline.com/news/charlie_sheens_camp_blasts_despicable/313376#ixzz1tm7wBdJe

No, Charlie Sheen did not intend for this to be part of his legacy.

In fact, upon hearing that Cheetahs Gentlemen's Club in New York City's Times Square had opened a "Charlie Sheen VIP Room" on its premises, the star got his attorney on the case, ASAP

But that didn't stop the club from planning a party so that the media could get a look at the "Art of Body Sushi" being served in the room named after the Anger Management star, he of last year's infamous sex-and-drugs-fueled

So, what does Sheen's camp have to say about that?

"Charlie has nothing to do with this and it is unfortunate that these despicable parasites have not been exterminated," Sheen's rep, Larry Solters, exclusively tells E! News.
Sam Zherka, president of Cheetahs' parent company, had encouraged Sheen not to "kill his own party," according to the invitation for tomorrow night's eat-and-greet.
But it turns out the shindig will not be going down as intended. Sheen's attorney, Martin Singer, sent a cease-and-desist letter to the club and, according to him, they complied.
"This matter has nothing to do with Sheen's reputation," he told the New York Post. "You can't use any celebrity name to promote a business without permission. They had no right to use his name."

Lowe insists the star was deadly serious when he suggested they tried to scam the awards - and win big in Las Vegas.Charlie Sheen once tried to drag childhood pal Rob Lowe into a get-rich-quick scheme at the Emmy Awards - by asking him to read out his name as he announced the winner of a Best Actor trophy.
He recalls, "At the Emmys a few years ago I was delivering the category of Best Lead Actor in a Comedy and Charlie was nominated; I hadn't talk to him for a while... He calls me up and said, 'Listen, I have a plan. The odds against me winning in Vegas are 36-1; I'll put a million dollars down, you read my name and I'll give you 70 per cent of the winnings.
"I hang up, laughing, and he calls me again and goes, 'Dude, I'm serious'.
"I said, 'Charlie, let me walk you through this... Here's the thing, they're gonna give me an envelope at the Emmys, I'm gonna open it, it's going to say Alec Baldwin. What would you have me do with the thing that says Alec Baldwin?' He goes, 'You can eat it! I will come up, make a spectacle and you eat it very quickly.'"

Charlie Sheen - The New Drug - 2012 - HD Sound

'Anger Management' Season 1 Preview Guide: Art Imitates Life for Charlie Sheen

After "dying" on Two and a Half Men and getting the boot from the CBS series that launched his career for lashing out at his bosses on the show, Charlie Sheenattempts to resurrect his TV career on the FX prime-time series Anger Management. The show, which is loosely based on the 2003 comedy film starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson, will feature Sheen as a "non-traditional" therapist specializing in anger management.

What to Expect from Anger Management Season 1:

"Everyone deserves a 24th chance," says Charlie Sheen on the promo for Anger Management-- which is clearly poking fun at his controversial life, including his highly publicized meltdowns, bizarre rants and derogatory statements about his bosses and co-workers, substance abuse and legal issues, as well as his color love life. The series is expected to comically tap on all that though that's not the only aspect of the show that will mirror Sheen's life.

On Anger Management, Sheen's character, which is also named Charlie, happens to be a washed-out minor league baseball player whose dreams of making it to the majors was thwarted by his personal struggle with anger issues. (In case you didn't know, Sheen was a star pitcher and shortstop for the baseball team of Santa Monica High School and he even starred in a couple of baseball films such as Eight Men Out andMajor League 1 and Major League 2.) Charlie went into anger management therapy and eventually made it to the majors but his anger issues led to a career-ending injury. Now, he's an anger management therapist counseling a group of inmates at a state prison while holding sessions with patients at his private practice.

Of course, Charlie's battle with his personal demons isn't over. To complicate things, he has to deal with his ex-wife, played by Sheen's real ex-wife Denise Richard, and a teenage daughter with OCD, played byDaniela Bobadilla. Also joining the mix are Selma BlairShawnee Smith,  Michael Arden, and Noureen DeWulf.

Meanwhile, Denise Richards isn't the only one who will appear on Anger Management with personal ties with Sheen. Zapt2it reports that Martin Sheen is expected to play Charlie's on-screen dad, Emilio Esteves might guest star as a therapy patient or work behind the cameras, Sheen's brother Ramon is already a producer on the show while sister Renee is also on the writing team.

Charlie Sheen and 'Anger Management' guest Denise Richards are 'friends now'

Charlie Sheen is happy to declare "Anger Management" literally "a family affair" as he gets back to the business of making television comedy.

Famously dismissed from CBS' "Two and a Half Men" last year, the actor is now at work on his upcoming FX show inspired by the 2003 Adam Sandler-Jack Nicholson movie. Set to debut Thursday, June 28, it casts him as an ex-baseball player turned unconventional anger therapist, and Sheen says he doesn't mind aspects of his personal life being drawn in.

To that end, his ex-wife Denise Richards just filmed an episode as ... his ex-wife. "It's symbolically, cosmically interesting that she's playing that part," Sheen tells Zap2it, "and she'll probably recur. She was terrific, and we're comfortable with each other. We're friends now and we're co-parenting pretty effectively, actually wonderfully. That Denise came onto the show is the real-life example that this does work, and I think that's pretty cool."

The "Anger Management" family ties don't end there: A deal for Martin Sheen to play Charlie's on-screen father is "closing today," Charlie reports. "Emilio [Estevez] might do an episode arc as a therapy patient, or come in and direct some episodes for us. My brotherRamon is on the show as a producer, and my sister Renee is on the writing staff. It's quite a place, to be able to look up and see a lot of people that I love and trust."

Referencing his preceding series experience, Sheen adds the "Anger Management" set is "exactly what the other one should have been, but wasn't allowed to become because of things that don't exist in my immediate universe."

Though his new effort will be in the FX universe that also includes such edgy shows as"American Horror Story" and "Sons of Anarchy," Sheen says viewers shouldn't necessarily expect "Anger Management" to follow suit.

"We're doing traditional, multi-camera sitcom material, and it doesn't feel like the dialogue is suddenly cable-friendly. I think it would still be within the confines of broadcast standards and practices. People aren't tuning into a sitcom to hear 'f***,' and that was the problem with the other show. That was a funny character, but he only had a few moves that got old after a while. Not everything can be solved with women, cigars and Scotch."

With an eye toward making "Anger Management" another success, Sheen maintains he's not watching much comedy elsewhere these days. "I'm so busy with so much other stuff, including the kids, I don't really have my TV schedule ironed out as a viewer," he says. "I haven't seen any particular show that's made me sit down and take note, but I have to believe that what we're doing here is hopefully as good."
